You’ll hear and read a lot about the success stories of the people who hit it big on the internet, but with that comes twice the number of stories of people who failed to make it. It’s true, a lot of people have tried and failed to maintain their online businesses, but we continue to draw inspiration from the handful of people who have succeeded.

How did they do it? Was it pure luck? Like our other achievements in life, it takes passion, determination, hard work… and sometimes, money. Here’s why paying for traffic is a smart move and why it’s worth it. It’s proof that investing can help fuel success in online businesses.

Traffic is one of foundations of a successful online business. It’s actually the most important factor, the chosen one! That’s because traffic is the reason why an online business gets sales. Think of it this way, in the World Wide Web, traffic is just like the walk-in customers in retail stores, the more walk-in customers your online business has, the higher your chances of selling your products.

Despite the fact that not every customer buys a product, there’s just no denying that the more customers you have, the more possible purchases you’ll be able to get. It’s common knowledge and it’s the reality online businesses face every day it’s also why paying for traffic is a smart move.

Keeping the phrase “You have to lose some to gain some” in mind, paying for traffic simply means you would have to spend some money to actually gain more money in return. So how do you spend money on traffic? By advertising, of course. When you advertise your online business, you are simply making your business known to all and with that come the flow of traffic to your site.

Advertising with Google or Yahoo means that your site will turn up in search results that are similar or relevant to your online business. And you won’t just appear on the first page of the search results, your site will be on top of the list. This shows why paying for traffic is a smart move. After all, paying for advertising can also be considered as paying for traffic.

The way you pay for your site’s traffic depends on the type of advertising you decide to use. You are sometimes required to pay every time your ad shows up in search results, or every time your ad is clicked in other sites. Again, it depends on what type of advertising you use.

It’s very obvious why paying for traffic is a smart move, since you will be earning back all the money you spend plus more when your customers start flocking to your site. There are plenty of tools for you to use online in order to properly generate traffic, so make sure to do your homework and research!

5 Guidelines To Get Your Articles Read

Writing an article is something most people aren’t excited about. For many, writing an article isn’t worth the effort, especially if no one reads it in the end. In fact, that’s the very reason why most people who write articles get so dismayed. And although reading an article can seem just as boring as writing one, articles were made to be read… and it will be, as long as it is well-written.

You don’t have to be a professional writer to be able to write well-written, entertaining articles. In order to get your articles read, most of the time, all you need is a system and some tips or guidelines to follow. Don’t worry, once you get used to writing articles, you’ll be able to enjoy it and maybe even use it to earn money.

Having enough knowledge about the topic you are going to write means that you’ll have a better chance to get your articles read. Aside from that, when you’re familiar with your topic, you won’t have a hard time writing your article, so that’s one less thing to worry about.

Here are a few more guidelines for you to follow to be able to get your articles read.

Short Paragraphs – Just imagine reading a block of text. Now imagine your article being exactly that, a block of text. It’s not a pretty picture, isn’t it? To keep your readers from running away at the sight of your article, make sure to avoid long paragraphs and turn them into shorter, less scary, less boring, less nauseating paragraphs instead.
Number and Bullets – Like short paragraphs, putting breaks such as numbers or bullets will make your article easier to read. The little breaks in your article will ensure that you are able to get your articles read and, even, enjoyed by your readers.
Sub-headings – Aside from numbers and bullets, sub-headings are also another way to break your article to make it more readable. The flow of your article will be smoother and less complicated with breaks such as these. Sections will also make your article look cleaner and less dull.
Title – One of the most important factors that will get your articles read is the title. A catchy title will definitely grab anyone’s attention and from there, the readers can work their way through your article without hesitation. As much as possible, use common words or phrases that most people search for to grab even more attention to your article.
Choice of Words – Get your articles read by turning them into a work of art. By this I mean, make your article come to life or more colorful by adding in fun facts or funny stories, personal experiences, life lessons, witty remarks, and more. This way, your readers will be able to enjoy your article.

Figures – Use numbers to support facts if needed, but always watch out for too professional articles. To get your articles read by many, always keep your article free flowing, conversational, entertaining and fun.

OMG. I can’t believe this!!!

I thought it was amazing when I was 300 and something on the

leader board the first contest.

It was even MORE amazing when I was 200 and something for

the second competition, but this….

This just takes the cake!

When I think about my beginning in the MLM industry:

Too shy to talk to anyone but family and friends,

Afraid of rejection

And then venturing online… still being afraid of so many things

Barely making any money to call myself a business owner…

I remember years when i made so little I didn’t even qualify

For a tax return (how crazy is that?)

And to see this is COMPLETELY amazing!!

Why am I telling you this?

I’m saying to to show that it doesn’t take a massive amount of people to place in the Top 200 or even Top 150 on the leaderboard. I’m saying this because with the right leadership and the right amount of committed people you can succeed

Our mantra, core commitment here with Empower Network is focus on getting 2 basic blogging sales per day. And clearly I didn’t do that right?

So just imagine where I, or you would be if we DID sell 2 $25 blogging systems per day…

Our goal during the contest was simple:

2 sales per day
sell an event ticket to Austin which is only 2 days away.

That’s what Dave Wood and Dave Sharpe said for us to do and, that’s what I focused on.

I went to work.

I took action

Everything was going right.

I blasted on to the leaderboard at #12… higher than some of the top earners

The leads were coming in, the sales were flowing and my team was upgrading.

And then it happened.

The day before Thanksgiving I got wind that someone who was dear to me was brutally murdered.

And the Sunday after Thanksgiving my Uncle who had been suffering from an illness passed away.

In one weekend I was faced with a decision.

Let grief consume me or keep pushing.

It was hard.

I didn’t feel like working.

I cried … A LOT

I had two funerals to go to; one on Friday and one the following Monday similar to the deaths that took place.

I can’t lie. I barely blogged. Most days during the month of December i scrolled up and down Facebook. And yet…

The sales keep coming in.

The commission notifications … $25, $100, $500, $1000 …

“Congratulations, you just signed a new member”

How could that be?

The system began to work itself … just like they said it would.

I found a marketing strategy I was good at, and I set certain things in place. My numbers slipped a little, but the system kept working.

And then I made a decision.

I looked at my kids and I realized (as if i didn’t already know), I could continue to grieve over something I couldn’t control and watch my hard work slip away

I could get it together and push through this, because I had 3 little ones depending on me.

It was tough, but I started with one day. And then the next. And slowly,I got back into my groove.

I continued to plug away.

I started calculating and developing strategies to keep me in position.

And although I didn’t get points everyday, I did make it.

The goals was to get a red lanyard which meant I needed to place in the top 200.

So what’s the big deal about a red lanyard?

Basically with a red lanyard you get invited to a private meeting with Dave Wood, Dave Sharpe and the top 6 and 7 figure earners during the Austin event.

THIS IS A HUGE FREAKIN DEAL!!!!

This basically puts me in the circle of those that are getting massive results.

I get to learn from them, build relationships with them, network with them, and really get to know them on a deeper level.

I’ve heard it said before that if you take the income of your 5 closest friends and divide it up the average will be close to what you make as well.

And since my income needs to go up, this new network of friends and business partners fits right into my life’s purpose.

It’s all starting simply by placing in the Top 200 and getting a Red Lanyard.

Now let me be clear.

NONE of this would have been possible had it not been for important 3 things.

1. God allowing this to be possible – getting serious about my prayer life. I made a commitment to God and although I’m not perfect, He honored my efforts and blessed me in spite of my faults.

2. My team believing in me enough to join the Digital Wealth Masters , trusting my leadership, and believing in THEMSELVES enough to commit to upgrading and showing up at the events.

3. And me focusing in on what needed to be done. No shiny ball syndrome. No getting distracted. Just 100% commitment.

And that’s the real deal.

If I told you how simple my strategy was you probably wouldn’t believe me.

Seriously. It’s the most ridiculous thing EVER!!

…..but IT WORKED.

Almost everyday, Monday – Friday I would:

1. Hop on Facebook

2. Post some Off the wall stuff

3. Chat with a few people

4. Broadcast my results

5. Email my List the swipes I got from other Empower Network leaders

6. Occasionally write an original blog (remember I was grieving)

That was it.

Some days I fell off. December was a complete wrap.

But the point is I did work and focused on my intention of being in the Top 200.

I had a goal to reach #30, actually I saw it in a dream … and I know it will happen. My intention is set.

I’m proud of my team members who have committed to coming to Austin: Valentino Crawford, Sandra Howard, Michelle Cornish and her husband, Tony Smith, and Valerie Mason.

An honorary mention goes to Eraina Tinnin who bought a ticket, but due unresolvable circumstances cannot be there 9she was in San Diego and WILL be at the next one)

And I can’t forget about my team members who maybe can’t make this one, but are ALREADY making plans for the next event!

7 Ways To Make Money From Your List

An opt-in list can be quite crucial to any site or internet based company. Even for a small venture such as a niche profit site an opt-in list can make a world of difference and also add some extra income for your pocket. Rarely would you see an e-commerce site, big or small, that is without an opt-in list.

An opt-in list allows for a company to market their wares and site via an e-mail. With an opt-in list, a site and a subscriber consents to sending and receiving a newsletter from your company. Through this, you can keep your subscribers abreast of what is currently available in your site as well as whatever is coming out.

And because there is mutual consent between the two parties, any mail sent to the list is not considered as spam mail. There is a great number of successfully read promotional materials such as catalogs, newsletters and such that are sent because the subscribers themselves have signed up for them, meaning, they do want to be sent those items.

Building a list is crucial, only a small percentage actually subscribes for an opt-in list. Many people find promotional mails annoying but of you provide a good newsletter or promotional material, you will see your list build up and grow. You can also achieve this by having good content on your site. If people like what they see and read on your site, then they surely would want more. Newsletters would be a way to attract them back to your site. A little teaser or appetizer if you will.

But other than marketing your wares and your services, an opt-in list can also be used to earn extra profit. Not all lists can be used though. It would be good to first build a successful list with a huge number of subscribers. The more subscribers you have, the more money you can get. Here are seven ways to make money using nothing more than your list.

1) Place advertisements. There are many corporations who will be willing to pay to put their banners and ads on a list with many subscribers. Selling or renting out lists is not a good idea so rather than doing that, many companies would just rather place ads with lists that have a huge subscriber base. Your newsletter could be placed with many ads and each one spells money.

2) Have affiliations with other companies that have at least a semblance or relation to what your site is about. Here other companies will provide links and brief descriptions of what they offer, products and services. With every click made on the link that directs or leads a subscriber from your list to their site, the company will pay you. This P4P or pay for performance.

3) Make deals with other companies by asking for a small percentage of sales done through your list. With every sale done by customers that have come from your list and have gone there because of your newsletter, the other company will pay you a small percentage of your sales. The more people who buys from them, the more earnings you get.

4) You may also get products from other sites on a consignment basis and sell them to your list via your newsletter. Place descriptions, articles and photos of the product in your newsletter. There will be those who will buy from you and when that happens, you can order the product from the other site and sell it to your buyer.

5) Sell e-books or a compilation of your articles on your list. Manuals and how-to articles are in great demand. Many people will be willing to shell out money to gain knowledge about a certain topic and subject. With your existing list trusting your expertise in that area, an e-book could be offered and sold or used as an incentive.

6) Create a network out of your list. Get people to invite more people to view your site and subscribe to your list. The larger your list is, the more people will be able to click on your links and affiliate links as well as make your advertisement rates higher.

7) Subscribers are willing to pay for information if they know that it can be trusted and relied upon. Use your list to get more and more people to subscribe to you as well as browse your site. Lastly, you can use your list to earn money by making them your partners. Your list will be the bloodline of your growth and increase.
